Conspiracy to commit subversion under the National Security Law for organizing or participating in the pro-democracy camp primaries in July 2020 (HCCC69-70/2022)

  • Jan. 6, 2021: Arrested with 54 other pro-democracy activists.

  • Jan. 7, 2021: Denied bail, and remained in custody [1]

  • Feb. 28, 2021: Officially charged along with 46 activists from the 55 arrested in January.

  • May 7, 2021: Emergency bail was granted to attend his father's funeral on May 8, 2021. [2]

  • March 26, 2023: Allowed to attend mother's funeral with high security and stayed for 25 minutes. [3]

  • June 1, 2022: Pleaded guilty.

  • Nov. 19, 2024: Sentenced to 4 years and 5 months in prison.


Knowingly taking part in an unauthorized assembly on June 4, 2020, in commemoration of the 31st anniversary of the Tiananmen Square Massacre (DCCC857-893/2020)

  • Aug. 6, 2020: Notified of charges on a total of 24 pro-democracy activists, including Wu. [4]

  • Jan. 6, 2021: Bail revoked after violation; remanded. [5]

  • Nov. 17, 2021: Pleaded guilty.

  • Dec. 13, 2021: Sentenced to 4.5 months in jail. [6]


Incitement to knowingly take part, holding or organizing, and knowingly taking part in unauthorized assemblies on June 30 and July 1, 2020, opposing the just-implemented National Security Law (DCCC107/2021)

  • Dec. 8, 2020: Arrested along with seven other pro-democracy figures; released on bail. [7]

  • Oct. 16, 2021: Sentenced to a total of 10 months in jail. [9]


Contempt and assaulting, obstructing, or interrupting an officer of the Legislative Council in the execution of duty in a protest during a House Committee meeting on May 8, 2020 (WKCC3842/2020)

  • Nov. 1, 2020: Arrested along with six other lawmakers and released on bail [10]

  • Aug. 8, 2022: Charges dropped. [11]
