Perry Link is Professor emeritus of East Asian Studies at Princeton University and Chancellorial Chair for Teaching Across Disciplines at the University of California, Riverside. He teaches and writes in fields of modern Chinese language, literature, popular culture, and politics. He is co-editor with Andrew Nathan of The Tiananmen Papers: The Chinese Leadership’s Decision to Use Force Against Their Own People—in Their Own Words; author of An Anatomy of Chinese: Rhythm, Metaphor, Politics; editor and translator of Fang Lizhi, The Most Wanted Man in China: My Life from Scientist to Enemy of the State; and co-author with Wu Dazhi of I Have No Enemies: The Life and Legacy of Liu Xiaobo. He serves on the boards of several human rights organizations. From 1996 the Communist Party of China has barred him from entering the PRC.
