Mark P. Lagon, Ph.D., a former U.S. ambassador, is Chief Policy Officer at Friends of the Global Fight Against AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria. He is also a Senior Fellow at the Trinity Forum, and Adjunct Professor in the Masters of Science in Foreign Service (MSFS) Program at Georgetown University. He previously served as President of Freedom House and Executive Director and CEO of Polaris. He served in three successive roles at the Department of State including Ambassador-At-Large to combat human trafficking, was a senior staffer at the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and served as deputy director at the House Republican Policy Committee. He received his Ph.D. in Government from Georgetown University, and A.B. from Harvard University.
